A New New Hope
Chilkat Pattern Boards
Chilkat Pattern boards were traditionally painted as a template for weavers to use to guide their design as they wove. This was usually done on a large plank of wood or multiple planks of wood. This piece is a study in Chilkat design style, a subcategory of Formline design which acknowledges the constraints of the weaving artform.
A piece for a friend. Acrylic on Candian Maple.
Gouache on wood board
Silkscreen print with hand painted gouache color and another silkscreen to outline the shapes.
I took up screen printing after learning about the art form from my sister, Crystal Worl, and Christy NaMee Eriksen. I love the art forms ability to really create crisp artwork, which works well in bringing out the clean design elements in formline.

Painting my own skateboard was where Trickster Company began. I simply created a painting on my own personal board to represent my heritage in my day to day life. I continue today designing various daily products as well as fine art products.
